Coming out as gay or bisexual can be very daunting and something that you may feel ready for now or maybe you want more information about how others have done it. The first thing you should think about is whether you have accepted your sexuality; do you feel confident enough to talk about it with others?

You may want to talk about these issues with someone who has been through it or at least read through coming out stories to get an idea about how you can handle the process. On the following pages you can read real life accounts from other young gay and bisexual men about their coming out experiences

The main thing you should remember is that you and only you will know when the time is right to come out. Do not be pressured into it. Don’t beat yourself up about taking time to think things through – Coming Out for the first time is something you will remember for the rest of your life so take your time, get informed and make sure that you are looking after yourself.
