Guidelines for best practice in work with young lesbian, gay and bisexual people
We've launched some guidelines to help people who work with young lesbian, gay and bisexual people.
These guidelines have been produced by Terrence Higgins Trust’s Sector Development Officer – Young Gay Men. They aim to provide workers who wish to work with young LGB people, a set of basic guidelines that will ensure quality service provision.
Also included are several examples of work that workers may find useful and can be adapted to suit a project. The guidelines have been produced with the help and input from agencies nationally.
We've split it into these areas:

- Attitudes and schools
- Sex, HIV & sexual health
- Relationships and families
- Valuing LGB young people
They have been designed to address the needs arising from young people that Terrence Higgins Trust has worked with directly and they also highlight common themes identified by experienced youth workers in this specialised field.

Terrence Higgins Trust has developed a new teaching pack providing teachers with ideas on how to talk about sexual orientation and challenge homophobia in school’s. This pack has been written by teachers for teachers.
